Through the years, Democracy Today (DT) developed four main directions of work: education on human rights (HR), gender equality and women’s rights protection, youth empowerment for active civic participation, as well as the development of researches followed by the advocacy on the improvement of state policies for protecting human rights and fundamental freedoms.
DT is a member of interagency commissions on the National Action Plan of UN Security Council Resolution 1325 and a member of a state commission for the identification of victims of trafficking in human beings.
Since its establishment, Democracy Today NGO worked in over 150 rural communities throughout Armenia. The organization has the capacity to work in all the provinces of Armenia since it has local focal points in different areas of the country.
Currently, Democracy Today is actively working in 6 communities of Armavir province, 5 communities of Ararat province, 2 communities of Aragatsotn Province, 2 communities of Shirak Province, 6 communities of Tavush Province, 3 communities of Lori province, 1 community of Kotayk Province, 6 communities of Gegharkunik Province, 3 communities of Vayots Dzor Province, 5 communities of Syunik and the Yerevan city.
